Biography
Mark acts in all areas of family law including private and public law children and financial relief, including ToLATA and Inheritance Claims; as well as appearing before Mental Health Tribunals and the in the Court of Protection.
In Public Law matters Mark has wide experience of acting for Local Authorities, Parents and Guardians in the Family Proceedings, County and High Courts.
Recent cases have involved:
representing a LA seeking to place a child in Australia;
acting for a Mother where there were allegations of sexual abuse;
Fighting Care Proceedings on behalf of parents with acute learning disabilities;
Mark undertakes all manner of Private Law cases and has extensive experience of matters involving implacable hostility, leave to remove applications and those involving allegations of physical or sexual abuse.
Mark enjoys financial matters and has a wide-ranging practice covering matters from transfer of tenancies to distribution of assets well in excess of £1 million, including those involving foreign properties. A particular interest is Trusts of Land matters arising from cohabitation, a subject on which Mark has regularly lectured. Schedule 1 and Inheritance Act cases are also undertaken.
Finally Mark also undertakes Court of Protection and Mental Health Tribunal work, which he believes assists him to see the wider context of the law governing family relationships and the protection of the vulnerable.
